Bethana H (Dexter) Wing

Surprised.
A few neighbors and friends of Grandma Wing gave her a surprise party last night at her residence on East Tenth street in honor of her seventy-first birthday.  Grandma was taken completely by surprise but recovered herself in time to give her guests a hearty welcome.  The evening was pleasantly passed in games, conversation, and the relating of reminiscences.  At a late hour the guests departed for home wishing Mrs. Wing many more years of happiness.  The Newton Daily Republican, Newton, Kansas.  Thursday, May 7, 1896.  Page 4.
