Howard Milton Balzer

Howard Milton Balzer, 79, retired owner/operator of Balzer Trucking, passed away peacefully Wednesday (Aug. 5, 2009) at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on April 15, 1930, in Newton to Abraham 'Abe' and Ida (Gaede) Balzer.

Howard married Veda Mae Moore on Dec. 29, 1950, in Potwin. She survives of the home.

He also is survived by his daughters, LaVonne (Charlie) Baker of Potwin, JoAnn (Dave) Denny of Potwin, and Sarah Balzer of Wichita; sons, Milton (Jenny) Balzer of Wichita, and Morey (Lori) Balzer of Belle Plaine; sister, Jane Nickel of Hillsboro; and 12 grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank and Arnold Balzer.

Viewing will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater, with visitation with family from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Potwin Christian Church.

Memorials may be designated to the church or Hospice Care of Kansas.
