Raymond D. Buller

Raymond D. Buller, 86, died Saturday (Aug. 8, 2009) at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1923, in rural Marion County to David D. Buller and Lydia (Schmidt) Buller. They preceded him in death.

On April 6, 1946, he married Evelyn Reimer at Tabor Mennonite Church in rural Marion County. She survives of the home.

Raymond was an active member of Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing. He was a retired farmer and stockman. He enjoyed spending time woodworking.

Family and friends were important to Raymond. He greatly looked forward to spending time with his loving family and many friends.

Other survivors include sons, Duane and Melody Buller of Hesston, and Kenton and Barb Buller of Newton; daughters, Elaine and Roger Epp of Beatrice, Neb., Raeanne and Randall Wiebe of Peabody, and Karen and Gary Esau of Lincoln, Neb.; brothers, Harold Buller of Newton, Wesley Buller of Lawrence, Clarence Buller of Lawrence, Arlo Buller of Dallas and Lloyd Buller of Houston; sisters, Elizabeth Niles of Appleton, Wis., and Pearl Goertz of Linden, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Regier.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Mennonite Church in Elbing, with Pastor Bruce Bradshaw of the church officiating.

Burial will be at Zion Mennonite Cemetery in Elbing.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or Mennonite Central Committee, in care of the funeral home.
