Obituary

Rita Rae Brady 82, died Thursday (Jan. 18, 2018) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born Dec. 16, 1935 in Hardesty, Oklahoma to Ray and Grace (Jackson) Talcott. On Aug.15, 1982, she married Robert "Bob" Brady at Newton. He survives of the home.

Rita was a devoted homemaker and loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy was that of a loving mother and wife. She greatly looked forward to visits from her family and family gatherings.

Another joy of Rita's was motorcycling with her beloved husband. They rarely made a planned destination for their rides and just enjoyed their time together watching the beautiful Kansas countryside pass by. When Rita was relaxing at home she could often be found playing dominose.

Rita is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Brady of the home; two sons, Lyle McClure and Ronnie Talcott both of Peabody; one daughter, Ranica Brown of Peabody; and stepdaughter Kitty Thompson of Emporia. She is also survived by one brother, Larry Talcott and one sister, Jeannie Love both of Colorado. She had five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren whom she cherished.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, David McClure; and two stepsons, Lee and Toby Brady.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 23, 2018) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Newton with Bishop Jeff Ellsworth Conducting. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.

Memorials are suggested to Shriner's Children's Hospital in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
