Oscar E. Weesner
Oscar E. Weesner, 80, retired machinist with Santa Fe Railroad, died Monday (Oct. 6, 1997).
He was born May 28, 1917, in Newton to Reed Weesner and Mary Coble. He married Rose Weesner. She survives of Newton.
He served int he Navy during World War II.
Other survivors include: one son, Robert Weesner of Newton; one daughter, Barbara J. Walker of Newton; three sisters, Dorothy Schill of Newton, Beverly Wildoner of Everett, Wash., and Arlene Baxter of El Segundo, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Weesner.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p. m. Thursday at Hillside Funeral Home East of Wichita.
Memorials have been established with the Union Rescue Mission or the American Bible Association, in care of Hillside Funeral Home East.
