Leland W. Klassen, 59, of Newton, died August 31, 1984 at University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City.
Born August 28, 1925, at Medford Okla., he married Betty L. Strout. She died in 1953. He was a cement finisher and had been a longtime Newton area resident. He was a member of the VFW, Newton, and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors: Mother, Mrs. Anna Angle, Newton; Father, Martin Klassen, Newton; brothers, Delbert, Phoenix Ariz.; Lloyd and Daryl, both of Wichita; sisters, Betty Lou Duncan, Tulsa, Okla; Beverly Ann Ostrowski, Lewisville, Texas.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, Newton; the Rev. Leon Jennings. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
