Douglas James Pearce

Douglas James Pearce, 24, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Sunday (April 19, 2009).

He was born on Aug. 15, 1984, in Newton, the son of James and Elizabeth (Busenitz) Pearce.

He attended Berean Academy and Frontier School of the Bible in LaGrange, Wyo. He was a member of Emmaus Mennonite Church, active in Campus Crusade for Christ, and taught the Good News Club in Potwin.

He enjoyed spending time with friends, hunting, motorcycling and athletics.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Liz Pearce of Whitewater; four brothers, Jared and wife, Andrea, of Benton, Anthony of Emporia, and Randall and Loren, both of Whitewater; grandfather, Walter Busenitz of Whitewater; niece, Olivia; and many aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Hope Pearce, and Susie Busenitz.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home in Whitewater.

Committal service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Schaffer Cemetery in rural Butler County, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. at Berean Academy in Elbing.
