Hilda J. Voth

Hilda J. Voth, 89, passed away Saturday (Jan. 3, 2009) at Hospice House of Reno County in Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Goessel, the daughter of Heinrich and Anna Unruh Woelk. She graduated from Bethel Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Newton. She had been the superintendent of Bethesda Hospital in Goessel, and she had worked as a nurse for Dr. Ratzlaff in Goessel, Dr. Rich in Buhler and at Buhler Sunshine Home. After marriage, she had farmed together with her husband on their dairy farm.

On Dec. 28, 1956, she married Herman P. Voth at Goessel. He passed away on Jan. 8, 1976.

She was a member of the Buhler Mennonite Church in Buhler.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Coleman and husband, Erle, of Winfield, and Leanna Wiens and husband, Jay, of Inman; a brother, Eldon Woelk and wife, Melba, of Goessel; and six grandchildren, Austin, Tyler and Shawn Coleman, and Scott, Laura and Ashlyn Wiens.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Arthur, Alvin and Ernest; and three sisters, Sarah Woelk, Anna Ensz and Marie Heppler.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Buhler Mortuary in Buhler, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Buhler Mennonite Church with Pastor Bob Dalke presiding. Burial will be at Buhler Municipal Cemetery in Buhler.
