HALSTEAD-Katie Hearting, 95, homemaker, died Saturday (Dec 20, 1997) at Halstead hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1902, in Alta Vista to Ernest and Suzette Mueller Zurbuchen. She married Paul Hearting March 14, 1948, in Halstead. He preceeded her in death Sept. 9, 1980.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Wimodausis and E.H.U., all of Halstead.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marjorie Holdeman of Rothell, Wash., two brothers, Frank Zurbuchen of Halstead and Charles Zurbuchen of Kansas City, Kan.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a son, William A. Armstrong; two brothers, Sam Zurbuchen and Edward Zurbuchen; and three sisters, Lena Boucher, Minnie Weddle and Elizabeth Hunsinger.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Halstead with the Rev. James Mardock officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead.
Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home.
