Ruby L. Barrett
Ruby L. Barrett, 94, died Sunday (Dec. 28, 2008) at
Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Nickerson to Donald
and Lois (Kreie) Hook. They preceded her in death.
On June 20, 1934, she married Owen E. Barrett. He
preceded her in death in January 1996.
Prior to her move to the Villa in 2005, Ruby was a
Newton resident since 1948.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, and she
especially enjoyed tending her flower beds. Ruby enjoyed spending time with her
loving family and many friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances Ferguson
of Loveland, Colo., Roberta Harms of Whitewater, and Eunice Logan; seven
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by five sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at
Petersen Funeral Home in Newton, with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8
p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston, with Chaplain Beverly Baumgartner of the
Villa officiating.
Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery in Newton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Schowalter
Villa in care of the funeral home.
