Donald Wayne Busenitz

Donald Wayne Busenitz, 81, died Friday (April 13, 2018) in Newton.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1936, at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, the son of Edward and Hilda Entz Busenitz. Don graduated from Berean Academy in 1955.  He married Judy Elaine Claassen on Oct. 20, 1963. She died on Aug. 19, 2009.  Don was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Newton area. He was a member of Newton Bible Church and active with the Heartland Pregnancy Care Center.

Survivors include son, Edward Busenitz and wife Mary of Newton; daughter, Emily Busenitz of Newton; brother, Norman Busenitz of Newton; sister Vernelle Tallman of Wichita; and two grandsons, Calvin and Cameron Busenitz.

The casket will be open at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday (April 19, 2018), where the family will receive friends between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (April 20, 2018) at the Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, followed by Memorial services at 11:00 a.m. at the Newton Bible Church.  A memorial has been established with the Newton Bible Church and Heartland Pregnancy Care Center. Contributions may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway, Newton, KS 67114.  Arrangements are by Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton.
