Anita Louise (Calbert) Seibert

Anita Louise (Calbert) Seibert, 71, of Hardy, passed away Tuesday (Sept. 9, 2008) at Ash Flat Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. She was a former employee and co-owner of Louie's Appliance and TV in Hardy, which she and her husband Louie owned. Anita and Louie were very dedicated members of Spring River Presbyterian Church in Hardy, where she attended church regularly and worshipped her Almighty. She was a past president of the Hardy Garden Club and Bunco Club. She also was involved with many community events and activities throughout her life.

She was a wonderful, loving wife of 28 years and a mother who always did her best for her children and grandchildren.

Anita Louise Calbert was born on May 15, 1937, in Hutchinson to Sid and Charlotte (Moss) Calbert. She was a 1955 graduate of Newton High School in Newton.

She was united in marriage to Gerald Dean Smith on Nov. 17, 1956, in Tucumcari, N.M. To this marriage, four sons were born.

She was united in marriage to Louis (Louie) Seibert on Aug. 28, 1980, in Hardy, where they resided together for the past 28 years.

Anita is survived by her husband, Louis 'Louie' Seibert of Hardy; sons, Mark (Marla) Smith of Newton, Gary (Mary) Smith of Greeley, Colo., Robert (Pansy) Smith of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Scott Smith of Cherokee Village, Ark.; brothers, Ronald (Judy) Calbert of Newton and Larry Calbert of Hardy; 14 grandchildren: Angela, Meagan, Maranda, Jesse, Aubry, Ryan, Wyatt, Cooper, Keith, Kyle, Sydney, Emily, Austin and Zachary; one great-grandchild, Natalie Rose; and several nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gerald Dean Smith; and one grandson, Steven Gerald Smith.

A celebration and memorial of life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Spring River Presbyterian Church.

Additional private family graveside services for her final resting will be at a later date at Hesston Public Cemetery in Hesston.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland, Ark.
