Shirley A. Edwards
Shirley A. Edwards, 73, of
Newton, passed away Wednesday (Aug. 27, 2008) at Asbury Park.
She was born Oct. 19, 1934,
in Florence, the daughter of Wilbert Carpenter and Carolyn Blades.
A resident of Newton since
1965, she worked as a secretary at Stevens Spring Co. for 14 years. She also
worked as a secretary at Elixier Industries.
She is survived by her
daughter, Diane L. McNeill of California; a son, Douglas A. Edwards of El
Dorado; four grandchildren, Donald Blades, Chris Thomas, Rachel Edwards and
Jacob Edwards; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Roberta M. Seible; and a
brother, Larry Lein of Newton.
Visitation will be from 5 to
8 p.m. Friday at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody.
Graveside service will be at
2 p.m. Saturday at Hill Crest Cemetery in Florence.
Memorials have been
established in memory of Shirley A. Edwards in care of the funeral home.
