Obituary
Michael Ray Haviland, 63, of Newton,
went to be with the Lord on Monday (May 21, 2018) after a long
illness. Michael was born on Feb. 18, 1955, in Newton.
Michael was an ordained minister and
shared his love of the Lord with the youth over many years. He also
loved his family and was always making sure they were taking care of
themselves. Michael loved spending time with family, reading,
painting, going to museums and spending time at the Keeper of the
Plains in Wichita. He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
Michael is survived by his children,
John (Stephanie) and Joe (Jill) Haviland; grandchildren, Austin and
Alyssa Haviland; father, Albert Haviland; stepfather, Keith Sims;
sisters, Pamela (Michael) Whalen and Annette (Ron) Allee; brother,
David (Missy) Haviland; and many other loving relatives.
He is preceded in death by his wife,
Phyllis Haviland; mother, Joyce (Kindt) Sims; and a brother, Gary
Haviland.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m.
Friday (May. 25, 2018) at First Christian Church, Newton. There will
be no public visitation. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery,
Newton.
