Audrey M. Heaston
Audrey M. Heaston, 81, retired nurse, died Tuesday (July 1, 2003) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
She was born April 26, 1922, to John and Adeline (Pierce) Eames in Rawlins Wyo. They preceded her in death. She married Claude Owens April 3, 1943, in Medford, Okla. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and Harvey County Hospice. she retired from Axtell Christian Hospital as a nurse in the obstetrics ward after 25 years. After retirement she worked with the Hospice Program of Newton. She was known as a mother and grandmother to many individuals.
Survivors include: two sons, Bill Heaston of Thornton, Colo., and Roger Heaston of Newton; four grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Eames.
Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today and from 1 to 5 p. m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 1 p. m. Saturday at Petersen funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Tim Conner and Verney Unruh officiating.
Burial will be in Restlawn Gardens of Memory.
Memorials have been established with First Baptist Church and Harvey County Hospice, both in care of the funeral home.
