Zelma Alene Bergen

OKLAHOMA CITY - Zelma Alene Bergen, 95, died Sunday (March 30, 2008) in Oklahoma City.

She was born June 24, 1912, in El Dorado to C. E. and Almie (Healy) Foster.

She married Eldo Bergen on June 24, 1933, in Wichita. He preceded her in death.

Zelma was a former member of the Golden Circle Camping Club, Newton Nomads, Entre Naus, So and Sew Club, NARVE and the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union.

She held a church membership with the First Christian Church in Newton.

Survivors include daughters, Dolores and Casey Cook of Oklahoma City and Nina Hirsch of Dallas; grandchildren, Vernon and Cyndie Worden, Jeanine and Mike Werncke, Christy and Grant Hawkins, Shelly and Keith McInroe, Brant and Cindy Cook, Kayla and Ben Seamans, Sean and Ronna Hirsch, Marc and Debi Hirsch, Heather and Johnny Foster and Aaron Hirsch; twin sister, Velma Pummill of Newton; 25 grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Worden; one grandson, Kim; and son-in-law, Sam Worden.

Funeral service is at 1:30 p.m. today at First Christian Church in Newton with the Rev. Gary Bell officiating.

Memorial contributions are to be made to the church.

Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton is in charge of arrangements.
