James J. Bocock
MESA, Ariz. - James J. Bocock
passed away Feb. 29, 2008, in Mesa.
He was born Jan. 3, 1931, in
Wichita to Stanley K. and Anna Turek Bocock.
Jim graduated from Newton
High School in 1949 and relocated to Arizona in 1979.
He spent his working life as
a construction superintendent. He was a member of the Masonic Blue Lodge of
Scottsdale and the El Zaribah Shrine of Phoenix. Jim loved to work in his shop,
making anything from furniture to gag gifts, and he could fix or build
anything. His favorite pastimes were camping and fishing.
Survivors include his beloved
wife, Esther; children, Nancy Rosen of Portland, Maine, Terry Montano of Newton
and David Bocock of Lee's Summit, Mo.; brother, Robert Bocock of San Antonio;
five step-children; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a
brother, Kenneth S. Bocock.
Jim donated his body to
science so he could help others, even after he was gone. In lieu of flowers or
gifts, the family requests donations be made to the El Zaribah transportation
unit, which helps children get to treatments at Shriner hospitals around the
country.
A memorial service will be
held at a later date.
