Newton man
dies from injuries he sustained in car pursuit
A man who
was injured in crash after he fled from a Harvey County Sheriff's deputy Friday
died at a Wichita hospital Saturday morning.
Stanley F.
Danford Jr., 45, of Newton was stopped by a deputy early Friday morning under
suspicion of drunken driving.
A passenger
exited Danford's vehicle, and Danford fled the scene.
After a
brief pursuit by the deputy, Danford lost control of his vehicle on Hertzler
Road north of U.S. Highway 50 and crashed into a row of trees on the east side
of Hertzler Road.
During the
crash, the vehicle rolled, and Danford was ejected from the vehicle.
The funeral
service will be at 7 p.m. today at Word of Life Ministries, 3811 N. Meridian in
Wichita.
