Shuster, A B

The sad tidings of the death of A. Shuster was circulated about the city yesterday.  Mr. Shuster died Sunday about 2 o'clock.  His death was caused by dropsy, of which he had been very sick since July 3rd and had suffered much.

Mr. Shuster was one of Newton's oldest settlers.  He was born in Pennsylvania in 1835 and came to Newton in 1871 when he started the first livery stable in the city and continued in the same business until his death.  In 1857 he was married to Miss Ellen Chinglesmith who survives him.  A good business man and one possessing many friends his loss will be deeply deplored.

The funeral took place at 3 o'clock this afternoon at his home on West Sixth street, and was conducted by the Rev. John Dooris in accordance with the ritual of the Episcopal church, of which Mr. Shuster was a member.  (The Newton Daily Republican, Newton KS.  Monday, September 8, 1890.  Page 4.  (c) Darren McMannis).
