Wilma Jean Benjamin
Wilma Jean Benjamin, 82, died
Tuesday (July 24, 2007) at Newton Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was born on
Aug. 8, 1924, in Burns to Charles and Lulu (Lutt) Mock. She was a retired
Boeing employee and managed a liquor store in Newton for a number of years.
Being a resident in Newton for 44 years, she became an active member of the
American Legion Auxiliary, the Bowling Association and was even a 50-year
member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Survivors include her guardian, Twila
Chaloupek of Wichita; a brother, William Mock of Texas; a sister, Mildred
Pinkston of Cottonwood Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; an infant daughter, Patricia Benjamin; a sister, Alice Auerbach;
and a brother, Lloyd Mock.
Visitation will be from 5 to
9 p.m. today at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton.
Service will be at 10 a.m.
Friday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton with Chaplain Bill Regier officiating.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
