Amber Johnson, 39, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2019).

Amber attended school in Newton, graduating in 1997 before going on to attend both Bethel College and Classic College of Hair Design.

She was deeply proud of her work at Experience Wellness in Wichita, where she had been employed for over a decade. Her co-workers were family, and she was loved by them as well as their clients.

Children were drawn to Amber and loved being around her. She volunteered with children as often as she could. Amber loved her nephews more than the universe and, more than anything else, she loved playing with and helping them learn and be creative in a million different ways.

Amber is survived by her parents, grandparents, two sisters (and brothers-in-law), three brothers (and sisters-in-law), nephews, a niece and many other family members.

There will be no public service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up through Petersen Funeral Home for the Newton Public Library. Amber loved to read and spent many hours there with her father and sister during her childhood. Memorials may be made out to the library and mailed to Petersen's at 215 N.
