Ruth Ann Hunsaker
Ruth Ann Hunsaker, 68, died
Tuesday (May 2, 2006) at Newton Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 9, 1937,
to Harry and Jessie (Smith) Erickson in LaCrosse, Wis. They preceded her in
death. She married Ralph J. Hunsaker on June 11, 1956, in Dexter, Mo. He
survives of Newton.
Ruth and Ralph did a lot of
traveling, having lived in Missouri, Illinois, Alabama, Arizona and Kansas. She
was an avid collector of many different items, with a special interest in
hummingbirds. Ruth Also enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Ruth retired from Norcraft in
2000 after approximately 11 years with the company. In the past years she was a
door greeter at Wal-Mart.
Other survivors include: a
son, Ralph Duane Hunsaker of Newton; a daughter, Teresa A. (Hunsaker) Goodman
of Sedgwick; sisters, Rita Norman, Rebecca Schaffer, Mary Olson and Marlene
Smith, all of Rockford, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to
9 p.m. Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2
p.m. Thursday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Peter
Hartman officiating.
Memorials have been
established with Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
