Mary N. Reimer

Mary N. Reimer, 103, of Newton, died Friday (June 30, 2006) at Asbury Park Healthcare in Newton. She was born Sept. 7, 1902, in Hillsboro to Heinrich and Helena (Unruh) Harms. She married Peter L. Reimer in 1935. He preceded her in death. Mary was a homemaker and member of the HIllsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She especially will be remembered for her baking skills. Survivors include a daughter, Laurene M. Reimer of North Newton; sons, Eldon Lee and Diane Reimer of Wooster, Ohio, and Les and Marilyn Reimer of Jeromeville, Ohio; grandson James Reimer of Wichita; granddaughters Naomi Snyder of Wooster, Ohio, and Sarah Matthews of Goddard; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Asbury Park Chapel. Pastor Dave Plett of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church will officiate.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established with Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church in care of the funeral home.
