Loretta Kay Bascom

McPHERSON - Loretta Kay Bascom, formerly of Newton, died Thursday (Aug. 31, 2006) at Hutchinson Hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Wichita to Clarence and Birdene Root. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include: her husband, Warren of McPherson; mother, Birdene Root of Whitewater; a daughter, Justina Sebrant of Tacoma, Wash.; a son, Craig Vogt of Wichita; a brother, Larry Root of Hutchinson; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by: a son, Steve Vogt; and a brother, Leo Root.

A private service will be held. Arrangements are pending with Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
