Noah S. Headings

Noah S. Headings, 88, died Saturday (Sept. 16, 2006) at Dillon Living Center in Hutchinson. He was born on Oct. 4, 1917, in rural Reno County, to Samual J. and Sarah Borntrager Headings. He married Thelma Ruth Larrance on April 3, 1955, in Newton. She survives. He had been a resident of Hutchinson since 2003, moving from Hesston, where he had lived since 1990. He was a retired custodian for Master Machine Tools and a farm laborer. He was a member of Golden Plains Free Methodist Church in Newton. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Other survivors include: a sister, Mary Culbert, Hutchinson; four grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Noleta Kay Delehoy; a brother, Bill Headings; and a sister, Martha Carr.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel in Hutchinson.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
