Linda Penner Enns

Linda Penner Enns, 99, died Oct. 29, 2006, at Kidron Bethel Health Care in North Newton.

She was born July 15, 1907, in Hillsboro to Jacob E. and Anna (Rempel) Penner.

On May 25, 1929, she married Abram S. Enns. He preceded her in death in 1981.

Linda was a member of First Mennonite Church of Newton.

As Linda grew up, her family moved from the Hillsboro area to Inola, Okla., and back. Once they settled in the Hillsboro area, she attended school in Canada, just east of Hillsboro.

Linda greatly enjoyed sewing, quilting and knitting. She made many beautiful pieces for her family and friends to treasure.

Survivors include daughters Leona M. Kaufman of North Newton and Annabeth Houchin of Wichita; a son, Norvie L. Enns of Reno, Nev.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and a sister.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Mennonite Church in Newton, with Pastor Clarence Rempel officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.

Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or Kidron Bethel Village in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
