J.W. Woodward, 79, passed away at his home in Frankfort, Kansas, January 9, 1936, following a illness of three weeks.
He had been doing poorly for the past year but became worse in the past three weeks. He was born June 23, 1856 the
son of Mary Ann and John Broadhurst Stone Woodward near Marietta, Ohio the fifth oldest in a family of eight children, all having preceded him in death. He has been a resident of Marshall County for twenty-three years and a resident of Frankfort for the past nine years.

He moved with his parents to Williams County, Ohio in April 1866. On January 16, 1879 he was married to Anna C.
Fehliman.

Besides his wife, Anna he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Irene George, of Newton, Kansas, Mrs. W.J. Stewart, of
Frankfort, Kansas, Miss Blanche Woodward of the home; four sons, Oliver Woodward, Cheyenne Wells, Colorado,
Calvin Woodward, Quinter, Kansas, Clarence Woodward, Elden, Missouri and Ralph Woodward Quinter, Kansas.

A short funeral service was held at the home on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Burial was in the Frankfort Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
