Paula Wiebe

Paula Wiebe, 97, died Thursday (April 12, 2007) in Rivera, Uruguay.

She was born on March 6, 1910, in Newton to John D. Wiebe and Helena Claassen Wiebe of Whitewater. They preceded her in death. She graduated from Whitewater High School in 1929. She was a missionary to Uruguay with Child Evangelism Fellowship and Biblical Ministries Worldwide. She was a member of Emmaus Mennonite Church in Whitewater and Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles, Calif.

Survivors include a sister, Frieda Wiebe of Newton; a sister, Emma Busenitz of rural Valley Center; six nieces and five nephews.

She also was preceded in death by an infant brother, Adolf and a brother, Ernest.

Memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Emmaus Mennonite Church in Whitewater with Willie Wiebe and Henry Heijermans officiating. Burial was April 13, 2007, at Cementerio Central de Rivera, Uruguay.

Memorial contributions may be made to Church Revolving Fund or Biblical Ministries Worldwide of Uruguay.
