Lydia H. Flaming

Lydia H. Flaming, 90, died Monday (Feb. 12, 2007) at Presbyterian Manor in Newton.

She married Frank J. Flaming at Tabor Church on April 11, 1936. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1986.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Mennonite Church. She was very family oriented and cared deeply for them.

Survivors include a son, Eldo Flaming of Topeka; brothers Cornelius Janzen, Edwin H. Janzen and Walter H. Janzen, all of Newton, Elmer Janzen of Wichita and Adolph Janzen of Enid, Okla.; and eight grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Twylah Welty, and brothers, Abe Janzen and Arthur Janzen.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh.
