Minnie D. Harrington

MANHATTAN -- Minnie D. Harrington, 88, former Hesston resident, died Thursday (March 27, 2003) at Stony Brook Nursing Home in Manhattan. She was born July 30, 1914, to William and Katherine Johnson Rea in Alva, Okla. She married John J. Harrington Oct. 10, 1935. He preceded her in death May 4, 1989. She graduated from Capron High School in Capron, Okla. She moved to Geneva in 1955, then to Iola in 1977. She moved to Hesston in 1987. She had lived in Manhattan since 1998. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Iola.

Survivors include: a son, Johnny L. Harrington of Manhattan; a brother, Bill Rea of Hutchinson; two sisters, Kathryn Snyder of Wichita and Lula McGuire of Alva; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: a son, Joe Harrington; and a daughter, Teresa Kuestersteffen.

Recitation of the rosary will be 9:30 a. m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola. Funeral service will follow at 10 a. m. with the Rev. Leon Kerschen officiating.

Burial will be in Colony Cemetery.
