Robert F. Brandewiede
1927 - 2020
Robert F. Brandewiede, 93, longtime
Newton area resident, died Monday (December 21, 2020) at the
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Ks.
He was born on the family farm outside
of Newton on December 11, 1927, the son of Frank Joseph and Gertrude
(Reilman) Brandewiede. Robert was raised on the farm and graduated
from Walton High School.
He married Pearl Delores Hein on May 9,
1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. She died on January 17,
2018. Shortly after Pearl's death he moved to Hutchinson.
Along with being a farmer he also
raised cattle and operated Brandewiede Steel Building Company.
He was an avid K.U. Basketball fan.
Robert was a lifelong and devout member of St. Mary's Catholic
Church. Through the years he had also been a member of the Sons of
the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, and the Newton Lions
Club.
Survivors include his son James R.
Brandewiede and his wife Cheryl of Hesston; daughters Kathy S. Vieyra
and Debbie A. Casey and husband Larry all of Hutchinson; nine
grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Along with his wife Pearl, he is
preceded in death by his parent; and four sisters Louise Newmaster,
Dorothy Anderson, Brunette Norman and Barbara Yager.
The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will
be at 9:30 A.M., Wednesday (December 30, 2020) followed by the Mass
of the Dead at 10:00 A.M., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton.
Private family interment will be in St.
Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Newton.
There will be no visitation or viewing.
A memorial has been established with
the Newton American Legion and the Walton Fire Dept., contributions
may be sent to Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E. Broadway,
Newton, Ks. 67114.
