Longtime Newton resident Olive F. Rose, 86, of Presbyterian Manor, formerly of North Newton, a homemaker and former Presbyterian Manor dietary department employee, died Friday, February 5, 1988, at Presbyterian Manor.

Mrs. Rose was born Nov. 26, 1901 in Sunnydale, Kansas to Harry and Ellen Reber.  She married Richard A. Rose March 15, 1922, in Newton.  he died March 30, 1960.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Richard J. of Newton; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Petersen's Funeral Home.  Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Petersen's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alden Dick officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
