Willard J. "Feezer" Regier
1928 - 2021
Willard J. (Feezer) Regier, 92, went to
be with the Lord on January 30, 2021 at Bethesda Home in Goessel Ks.
He was born on June 5, 1928 at home on
the farm near Goessel.
Upon accepting Jesus as his savior, he
was baptized at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church then served as a
lifelong member.
He excelled in basketball and baseball
as a Bluebird of Goessel High.
While in high school he met the love of
his life Julia F. Schmidt.
After graduation in 1946, Willard and
Julia were married October 15, 1948 at Tabor Mennonite Church rural
Newton.
Willard worked the farm with his Dad
until he and Julia served in 1W service at a Denver hospital as
conscientious objectors during the Korean War in 1951-1952.
Many 1W co-workers became lifelong
friends.
He returned to the farm in1953. In the
mid 60's along with farming, he worked at Hesston Corp. until his
retirement in 1992. He continued his love of farming until 2012.
Willard was proceeded in death by his
parents John D. and Martha Regier. A stillborn son, Merle. Two
brothers; Irvin and Carl and sisters; Hilda Franz and Verna Krehbiel.
He is survived by his wife Julia of
Goessel and daughter LaNae (Steve) Unruh of rural Moundridge.
Willard's first love was for his family
and he deeply cared for his community and church.
His greatest joy in life was being a
good steward of the land.
Due to COVID 19 a private graveside
service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Alexanderwohl
Church cemetery rural Goessel. In lieu of flowers, memorials to
Alexanderwohl Church or Bethesda Home in care of Jost Funeral Home
