Violet "Vi" Dick February 3, 1942 - January 28, 2021

After a courageous battle with cancer, Violet Frances W. Dick, 78, went to meet her Savior on January 28, 2021, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, Kan. She was born February 3, 1942 in Hooker, Oklahoma to Bill and Anna (Schroeder) Wohlgemuth.

She married William R. Dick on May 23, 1964 in Adams, Oklahoma. He passed away April 1, 2010.

Vi grew up on a farm near Adams and attended Adams High School, Corn Bible Academy and graduated from Tabor College in 1964. Vi taught at Ingalls Elementary School in Wichita before moving to Hesston in 1970 with her young family. After her children were in school, she enjoyed many years of work at the Hesston Chamber of Commerce and Hesston College. She was a member of Koerner Heights Church in Newton, where she and Bill were involved with children's ministry, hospitality and leadership. Vi enjoyed gardening, entertaining, traveling, and playing cards with their spades and bridge groups. She was a faithful follower of her grandchildren's activities and her OU Sooners.

Survivors include her daughters, Noelle Dickinson of Newton, Hilary Dick (John Biehler) of Bel Aire, and son, Aaron (Katie) Dick of Olathe; her sister, Loretta (Tommy) Lee of Hesston and brother, Willis (Cindy) Wohlgemuth of Claremore, Okla; grandchildren, Josh Dick of Kansas City, McKenna Dick of Lawrence, Jorge Lobo of Kansas City, Wyatt (Emily) Dickinson of Hillsboro and Nash Dickinson of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Dick; brother, William James Wohlgemuth and sister, Ruth Ann Wohlgemuth and son-in-law, Craig Dickinson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Koerner Heights Church, 320 N. Meridian, Newton. Social distancing and masks are strongly encouraged. The celebration will be streamed on the Koerner Heights Church FaceBook page. Memorials may be made to Koerner Heights Church Special Projects Fund in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O.
