Winifred L. 'Sugar' Brewer
LATOUR, Mo. -- Winifred L. "Sugar"
Brewer, 69, homemaker, died Sunday (July 17, 2005) at St. Luke
Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. She was born May 16, 1936, to Ralph and
Beryl (Robbins) Vaughn in Florence. They preceded her in death. She
married Max Wayne Brewer June 21, 1953, in Burrton. He preceded her
in death in January 1988. She met her significant other, Ernest Rea
of Kansas City. He survives of the home. She grew up and attended
Florence schools. Winifred greatly enjoyed all craft projects, and
she especially enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and
sending them homemade stamped cards. She looked forward to
'snowbirding' in the Arizona desert in the winter time. She also
looked forward to spending time with her family.
Other survivors include: daughters,
Patti and Randy Richter of Peabody, Terri and James Bullock of Newton
and Sherri and Brad Richter of McPherson; sons, Bruce and Debra
Brewer of Peabody and Daryl and Linda Brewer of Marion; a
daughter-in-law, Penny Brewer of Topeka; and a sister, Laverna Sayer
of Newton; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by: a
son, Gregory Brewer; a sister, Patricia Hauck; and several brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m.
Wednesday at Petersen Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 10:30
a. m. Thursday at Whitewater Center Church with Pastor Jim Pohlman of
Peabody Christian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Whitewater Center
Cemetery in rural Peabody.
Memorials have been established with
the Brewer Family Funeral Fund in care of the funeral home.
