Mary Hiebert

WHITEWATER - Mary Hiebert, 97, passed away Friday (January 4, 2013), at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater.

She was born in rural Marion County, July 21, 1915, the daughter of Henry Bernard and Eva (Hiebert) Schmidt, Sr. She attended Goessel schools.

On April 13, 1937, she was united in marriage to Jake Hiebert at the Tabor Mennonite Church. They farmed near Whitewater and owned a house moving business.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jake Hiebert; siblings:

Rudy Schmidt and Olga Schmidt; and a granddaughter. She is survived by her children: Willard and wife Rachel Hiebert of Moorhead, Mn.; and Gladys Walling of Winifred, Mont.; a sister Elda Mellott of Peabody; three grandchildren and their families. Visitation with family will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater.

Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Swiss Church, Whitewater. Interment will be in the Swiss Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Ponca Bible Camp in care of Lamb Funeral Home, 120 S Main, Whitewater, KS, 67154.
