Julia F. (Schmidt) Regier

1928 - 2021

Goessel - Julia F. (Schmidt) Regier, 92, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2021 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

She was born on March 7th 1928 in Newton Kansas.

Upon accepting Jesus as her savior, she was baptized at Tabor Mennonite Church rural Newton.

She graduated from Goessel High school in 1946. Her yearbook stated that Julia could sing like a Lark.

Julia married Willard (Feezer) Regier October 15, 1948 at Tabor Mennonite Church. Willard and Julia served in 1-W service in a Denver hospital as conscientious objectors during the Korean War in 1951-1952. Many of the 1-W co-workers became lifelong friends. Julia and Willard returned to Kansas and became partners in farming at Willard's farm west of Goessel.

Julia was an active member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church rural Goessel.

Julia was proceeded in death by her husband Willard J. Regier, parents Otto Nick and Susie Schmidt, still born son Merle, Brother Nicky Schmidt, Sister Rita Sperry.

Julia is survived by her daughter LaNae (Steve) Unruh rural Moundridge, Sisters Susan Duerksen Goessel, Delome (Jerol) Schmidt rural Newton and many nieces and nephews.

Julia excelled as an avid gardener, seamstress and was well known as a great baker and cook. Julia's life's love was taking care of her family and caring deeply for her community and church. But Julia's greatest joy was working alongside Willard as a steward of their farmland.

Due to COVID 19 a private graveside service will be held at the Alexanderwohl Church cemetery rural Goessel. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Aleanderwohl Church or Bethesda Home care of Jost Funeral Home P.O. Box 266 Hillsboro, Ks 67063.
