Steven Charles Hunter, 68, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 while in the care of Good Shepherd Hospice at Pine Village. He was born November 17, 1952 in Newton, Kansas, the only child of Charles Hector and Bernice Honora (Quiring) Hunter.

He attended Berean Academy in Elbing, Kansas.

Steven was united in marriage to Lynda G. Hayes on February 28, 1975. They later divorced but remained friends throughout his life. They raised two sons, Jacob and Joshua.

Steven held positions managing the Fox Theatres in Newton, Hutchinson, Topeka, and Mall Cinema in Wichita. He also worked for Hesston Manufacturing. Steven worked in the marketing department at Moridge Manufacturing in Moundridge for 36 years, retiring in December of 2020.

He enjoyed cooking, being outdoors, music, movies, weather, reading the news and history. Above all, Steven loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his sons, Jacob (Karen) Hunter and their children, Evan and Kaitlyn, and Joshua (Alicia) Hunter and their sons, Elijah, Keegan, Camden and Micah.

A celebration of life service is being planned by his family for the summer/fall of 2021.
