Claude James (Jim) Honaker Jr., 75, of Newton passed on the morning Feb. 26, 2022, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Claude James, Sr., mother Frances, brother Gary and first born daughter Debra Ann. Jim was born on Nov. 11, 1946, in Williamson, W.V. He and Debra were married for 43 years. Jim worked for Johns Manville before retiring to tend the farm. He liked working in the garden and orchard, enjoying the fruits of his labor. Jim was also an avid shooter and gun enthusiast.
Jim is survived by wife Debra, sisters Brenda Fugett, of Turkey Creek, Ky., and Barbara Nickel of Montana; his children, Irene Knauf of Moundridge, Micheal and wife Steffanie of Atchison, Kristy Spoon and Husband Joe of Newton, Barbara Stahl and Husband Don of Hesston, Rachel Honaker of Walton, Claude III of Newton and Leah Juszyk and Husband Kevin of Omaha, Neb., 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Jim on Saturday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m., at New Life Assembly of God Church, 818 Washington Rd., Newton.
