Wedel, Jane

Jane Anne (Regier) Wedel, 92, died January 26, 2022.

She was born February 6, 1929 to Herb and Rosa (Steiner) Regier in Newton, Kansas. She attended elementary and high school in Moundridge, Kansas.  Jane and Milford were married on February 6, 1948.  They were blessed with 73 wonderful years together.  Three children were born to this union, Susan Kay, David Ray, and Danna Gay.  Jane and Milford lived in Moundridge until retirement in 1991.  Jane had worked in the Moundridge Caf?, Citizen?s State Bank and was an insurance processor at Bethel Clinic for 25 years.  Upon retirement they moved to Grand Lake Oklahoma where they had previously spent many weekend getaways.  After 20 years on the lake, they moved to McPherson.

Jane was baptized in West Zion Mennonite Church where she and Milford were members all their married years.  Jane?s hobby and number one love in life was quilting.  All family members have been honored with and gifted numerous quilts for many special occasions.  She had a very special gift and talent.  She will always be remembered for her beautiful quilts and her love, time and energy that went into each final masterpiece.  Her second love was fishing.  She could filet a fish in a blink of an eye.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Rosa (Steiner) Regier; husband, Milford Wedel; a brother-in-law, Warren ?Red? Stadalman.  Survivors include; daughter, Susan Leonard (Joe) of Hutchinson; son, Dave Wedel (Mindi) of McPherson; daughter, Danna Owens (Scott) of McPherson; grandchildren, Shelly (Troy) Helm, Parker, CO, Rhonda (Jon) James, Pawnee, OK, Todd (Michelle) Leonard, Overland Park, KS, Tisha (Jason) Hoover, McPherson, Chad (Jill) Wedel, McPherson, Kindra (Craig) Schmidt, Moundridge, Chance (Heidi) Pearson, McPherson; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Bernice Stadalman, Margie Huxman (Richard), Mae Dee Davies; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am, Friday, March 25, 2022 at West Zion Mennonite Church. Cremation is planned with a private inurnment at West Zion Cemetery, Moundridge, Kansas.  Memorial contributions may be made to West Zion Mennonite Church in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, P.O. Box 410, Moundridge, Kansas 67107.
