Edna Frances Wall
WICHITA -- Edna Frances Wall, 83, died Wednesday (March 24, 2004) at Lakepoint Nursing and Rehab of Wichita.

She was born Aug. 10, 1920, to Roy J. and Effie Edna (Jeter) Martin in Lexington, Okla. They preceded her in death. She married George Wall Aug. 23, 1956, in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death July 23, 1961.

She was a 1938 graduate of Newton High School and a longtime Newton resident. She worked as a cook at the Elks Club, Country Club and Ramada Inn of Newton. She owned the Walton Cafe and was manager of the Marrett Hotel in Halstead. She enjoyed gardening and quilting, and she was an avid cook. She was a member of St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Newton.

Survivors include: two sons, Dick Bourn of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Tom Bourn of Wichita; a daughter, Judy Dumas of Wichita; four brothers, Hurshel Martin of Phoenix, John Martin of Wichita, Kenneth Martin of Hutchinson and Raymond Martin of Florida; a sister, Parlee Bloomer of Peabody; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by: a brother, Roy Martin Jr.; and a stepmother, Elvia Martin.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
