Jane Sandra Naylor 80, died, April 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Kansas Christian Home in Newton, Kansas.
She was born April 17, 1942 in Chillicothe, Missouri to Frederick and Alma (Schiffendecker) Russell. On December 11, 1960 she married Russell S. Naylor at Dodge City and he survives. She was a long time active member of the Salem United Methodist Church in Newton and was involved with the Red Bird Circle, Companions in Christ and Crusaders Sunday School Class. Jane worked as the in the craft department manager at Wal-Mart prior to her retirement. She was known by her customers for being friendly and helpful. She enjoyed crafts, baking and tending flowers and gardens. Her greatest joy was her family and friends. She looked forward to following her kids and grandkids activities. Jane could also often be found spending time quilting or baking.
She is survived by her husband, Russell; three children, Marla Stroup Oberlin, Kansas, Julia Cusick Gilbert, Arizona and Todd Naylor Belle Plain, Kansas; she is also survived by sister in law Ruby Russell and 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Sister and brother in law Judy and Roy Austin and brother Charles Russell.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023 at Salem United Methodist Church with Pastor Charles Claycomb presiding. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Newton Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church and left in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
