Authorities say a 33-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle near Oaklawn early Sunday morning.

The accident happened at around 12:30 a.m. at K-15 and MacArthur. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said a Toyota Camry was heading south on K-15 when it hit the Newton man in the roadway. He was not in a crosswalk. 

The man, Nicholas Wade Garcia, of Newton, was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.   The sheriff's office said the 22-year-old woman driving the Toyota stopped immediately. Investigators don't believe she was speeding or impaired. '
