Rural School Reunion

Rural school reunion Oct. 15 in Newton

The Harvey County Rural School Reunion was Oct. 15 at the Newton Area Senior Center. There were 62 attending.

Officers elected were John Stahl, president; Nelson Drier, vice president; and Elaine Sauerwein, secretary/treasurer.

Four former teachers were present: Florence McLenden, Hazel Craig, Lillian Pankratz and Dorothy Williams.

Those attending had a basket dinner.

Several selections were played on the keyboard by Elma Harms and Ruby Baucher. In addition, Baucher read two poems: "Farmer's Divorce" and "I Am a Senior Citizen."

The minutes of the first meeting were read. The meeting was in 1947 at Gem School.
