Henrietta Wilhelmina Friday, wife of Jacob Friday, formerly of this city but now residing near Florence came to a sudden and horrible death last Monday evening (Jan. 17, 1887) caused by a team running away while hitched to a wagon.  At the time of the accident Mr. Friday was absent from the wagon on business and had left his wife to hold the team which became frightened and in the runaway Mrs. Friday was thrown from the wagon, the wheels of which passed over her head with the result as stated above.  The remains of the deceased were brought to Newton last evening and will be interred in the city cemetery to-day.  The funeral will take place from the Lutheran Church on the corner of West Seventh and Elm streets at 10 o’clock this morning.  (The Newton Kansan.
