A three year old son of Mrs. Johnston, living near Annely, was brought to the city this morning for treatment. The other day while feeding corn to the chickens, he had a few grains left, and thinking to fool the chickens – “Now you see me, now you don’t” – stuck them in his nose. It required a surgical operation to withdraw them. The Newton Kansan, Newton Kansas. Thursday, August 23, 1888. Page 4.
