Larry Lampman, 70, passed away two days after a motorcycle accident.  He had lost control on a sandy spot following weeks of rains.  When help arrived, they found Larry injured but responsive, complaining of a hurt shoulder and side.   Although Larry was expected to survive, the family was surprised when a few days later, he died.

Larry Lampman, 70, Larry Dean Lampman, 70, of Newton died August 9, 2016 from complications suffered after a motorcycle accident. He was born November 7, 1945 to Maurice and Frances Lampman in Madison, Wisconsin. Larry married Sharon Faber on July 3, 1965 in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Together they had three daughters, Laura, Brenda and Kimberlee. Larry started his career as a radio personality in Wisconsin. The majority of his career was spent in the manufactured housing industry where his outgoing personality and charisma were his trademark. He didn’t know a stranger, and everyone he met loved him. After a successful career he was blessed to have time to enjoy his family and his love of motorcycling. He got in his last ride on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Surrounded by his loving family, Father Benjamin sent him on his final journey with the words, “Ride on Larry!” Larry is preceded in death by parents, Maurice and Frances Lampman. He is survived by wife, Sharon Lampman; daughters, Laura (Brian) Armstrong, Brenda (Luis) Thompson, Kimberlee (Brad) Anspach; grandchildren, Brady Armstrong, Gabrielle (Anthony) Hull, Celeste Thompson, Nikolas Thompson, Brendan Thompson, Samuel Anspach; and brother, Harley (Mary) Lampman. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, with Rosary held at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am.  Memorial Contributions may be made to Larry’s family in care of Sharon Lampman.  Arrangements by Petersen Funeral Home of Newton.  (Petersen Family Funeral Home, Newton Kansas.  August 10, 2016).
