A Newton man is dead after a crash involving a motorcycle and a minivan Tuesday evening near 81 Speedway. 
Park City police said Wednesday Johnny R. Barrientez, 42, of Newton was heading north along Broadway/Old U.S. 81 when the minivan in front of him attempted a left turn onto 77th Street N. Barrientez attempted to pass the van, but instead hit the vehicle on its driver’s side. Barrientez was rushed to a Wichita hospital in critical condition, where he later died. The driver of the minivan, and three juvenile passengers inside the van were unhurt. Barrientez was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Park City police are investigating the crash with assistance from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. KAKE News, Wichita Kansas. November 2, 2016.
