Bentley Man Dies In Wreck
A 31-year-old Sedgwick County man was killed Saturday evening (April 3, 1994) in a single-vehicle accident about 3 miles south of Halstead on Halstead Road, authorities said. The man, a resident of Bentley, had not been wearing his seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle when it overturned in a ditch, said Deputy Wayne Gehrer of the Harvey County Sheriff’s Department. Gehrer refused to comment on whether alcohol had been involved. The accident occurred at about 7:20 p.m. and the victim died within an hour at Halstead Hospital, where he’d been transported by ambulance.
